What doesn't destroy an instrument only makes it stronger, and that's the notion behind GE Inspection Technologies (Inspect Tech). The company's products make use of non-destructive testing (NDT) technology. For example, it tests the strength of a suspension bridge by means other than driving a succession of heavy trucks over it until the bridge collapses. Inspect Tech makes products for the aerospace, automotive, and power generation industries. These include X-ray systems, ultrasonic technology, hardness testers, and bespoke testing equipment. The unit was formed following GE's purchase of various testing companies, such as Hocking NDT, Krautkramer, Seifert, and Agfa's NDT division.
